A massively spreading herb, leaves; ovate, toothed or serrated, small petiole, bright green to a tint of maroon, flowers; axillary, singly, violet fades as it reach the tip of the petal. Distributed throughout the Philippines in shaded areas.

An erect, very slender grass, leaves; few, oblong to ovate to oblanceolate, shortly petioled, head; tiny, exposed, assembled in a common peduncle, flowers; cottony pappus hairs, violet to purple. Common grass in open fields, distributed throughout the Philippines. Flowers from September to April.
