A perennial herb with large, glossy, grass green and oval leaves with numerous white spot on the upper surface., this plant has petioles that are dotted pale green with greenish spathe. It is native to Brazil, and is the most common Dieffenbachia.
Dischidia oiantha
Locally known as Manaog ka Irog. A loosely hanging and vigorously growing epiphytic herb, the stems of this plant are long and green. Its leaves are opposite, more or less green, round, fleshy, grayish green. It is endemic to the Philippines, growing in thickets and forests at low altitudes and along the seashore.
Dracaena australis

Oftenly termed as the false palm, native of Africa and Asia. Easy to cultivate through cuttings and seldomly by seeds. Seen in tropical gardens for its aesthetic value.
Dracaena marginata
An upright, slow growing perennial herb, with a slender unbranched stem and dense terminal rosette of leaves. Its leaves are narrow, linear, amplexicaul, about 38cm long, rigidly spreading, a shiny deep olive green and edged with a thin red line. It is native to Madagascar and was recently introduced to the Philippines. Cordyline is a plant that thrives well in sunlight and drained soil. It is slow growing but durable; and propagated by stem cuttings.
Dracaena reflexa
Branching and climbing, semi-woody, this perennial plant grows to 5m tall. Its stem is cylindrical, semi-woody and densely covered with leaves. Leaves are oblong, acute, dark green, leathery with bands of golden yellow at the margins. It is native to Sri Lanka and South India, and was recently introduced to the Philippines. Propagated by stem cuttings.
Dracaena sanderiana
This plant is slender and succulent, with branched or unbranched stems. Its leaves are distant, alternate, lanceolate, acuminate and glossy green, with broad, white to yellow-green margins. It is native to Congo, Africa, and though just recently introduced to the country, it is already widely cultivated in cities.
Duranta repens
Sometimes unarmed, glabrous erect dwarf shrub, the leaves of Golden duranta are bright golden yellow, obovate elliptic, with toothed margins above the middle, also having an acute apex and cuneate base. Its flowers are white or blue in hanging clusters, corolla is formed into a short tube and spreading into 5 limbs. Fruit is a fleshy yellowish ovoid drupe, to 1.5 cm in diameter. Native to tropical America and cultivated in most towns in the Philippines. A variegated type has recently been introduced to the country.
